Great restaurants in Marathon, including some hidden gems!
Key Colony Beach and Marathon Florida have some great places to eat. The two primary places to get a good bite in Key Colony Beach just minutes from the Palm Villa is Sparky’s on Sadowski Causeway and Key Colony Inn just off the Causeway. Sparky’s offers a happy hour daily from 4-6pm that is very popular with the locals, discounted drinks, 7 dollar pitchers of beer and their famous Peel & Eat Shrimp and Hot wings for 35 Cents a piece. Key Colony Inn is a great place to go for lunch with daily specials that offer large plates of homestyle hot food ranging from 8-12 bucks.
Leigh ann’s coffee house is also close by the house and they have some really nice coffees and offer some breakfast. If your looking for a great local place to eat breakfast try The Wooden Spoon, for some classic american diner style food at a cost that won’t break the bank. The Stuffed Pig also offers big breakfasts but they are on the other side of town.
Catch a fresh tuna and take the meat to Lazy Days on 11th Street. Get the tuna nachos you will NOT be disappointed!” Captain Nicholas Yeager
Don’t forget to try the delicious Cuban Sandwich or any of the great daily specials on at Brutus Seafood in Marathon especially for lunch. Also Burdines waterfront is hands down the best burger in town and they make some fantastic french fries to go along with them. For Dinner we recommend Franks’ Grill in Marathon for some amazing Italian food at affordable prices. Also try Castaways if you are in the mood for some Sushi. If you want something a bit more upscale try this hidden gem in Grassy Key The Hideaway Cafe, do not be deceived when you first arrive you are at the right place.
